My family and I took a road trip to The Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, Virginia which has an extensive art and glass art collection as well as a glass blowing studio for artisans from all over. It's a short 3 hour drive from the Raleigh area and it is free.

This piece made by braided wire by Ethiopian artist Elias Sime was evocative.

As was this piece featuring thread, ink and graphite on tracing paper by artist Wura-Natasha Ogunii.

The museum's extensive glass art and installation collection is notable.

They also have a teaching and working glass blowing studio on the campus.
