Gather-Studios is a shared office building located in downtown Cary, North Carolina created and managed by designer and entrepreneur Michelle Smith. Gather-Studios features a number of private creative artisan work spaces housed in a beautiful old home, the space features a classroom area in the front, a garden patio in the back, and a shared kitchen overlooking the back yard.

The environment is intentionally serene, quiet and cozy, filled with plants and good vibes. The space feels more like a home than an office. It is lovingly-dubbed "coworking for introverts" though there is also a focus on holistic community. Many of tenants are focused on healing, wellness and community in some capacity.  In addition, Gather itself is a hybrid of many things including part coworking (focused on mostly women entrepreneurs), a classroom featuring creative maker lead classes, an intimate event venue and an online shop and showroom space.

Gather-Studios is located steps away from the downtown Cary park, library and fountain and directly across the street from the Cary Arts Center. The house features hardwood floors throughout, with gorgeous natural light. Located in an extremely walk-able neighborhood in the center of the Triangle area of North Carolina, Gather-Studios is a walk or bike ride away from a movie theater, a brewery, a coffee shop, a ceramics studio, a park, the library, multiple bakeries, a chocolate shop, the train station, and the post office.

Open by appointment only.Located at 417 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary, NC 27511.

Why Gather-Studios? As an introverted entrepreneur with a particular interest in personal sustainability and wellness, as well as the home, I am passionate about creating spaces that reflect my own values and allow me to thrive as a business owner and individual but that also allow me to interact with and create community. I believe that is achieved through work spaces that are filled with plants and light, that are cozy and aesthetically pleasing and feel like a home, but also a space that fosters nurturing and supportive relationships with the other tenants of the space, in a holistic way.

Throughout my sixteen+ years as an entrepreneur one of the common threads in my work has been in making spaces that help others succeed and in creating opportunities and environments for others to interact with. In building these spaces I continued to see over and over again the real lack of private office spaces that were centered around common themes, spaces for creative entrepreneurs and makers and artists, that were cozy and soft-edged, and aesthetically pleasing and community oriented. I saw the need for these spaces for both others and myself. I recognized that the heart of my business was in these aspects and that those areas are where I wanted to focus in the future. I am a big believer in trying things, and then editing and refining them until you find the most essential pieces. To me, the most essential pieces of Gather are here, within these walls, and I am excited about this new endeavor. I look forward to creating a new space alongside others, building upon an existing community and growing further.  - Michelle
